Unexpected gifts

On Sunday I was changing planes in Seattle. It was rainy, cold and windy. I had taken a small turbo-prop from Portland. The first plane that they put us on had mechanical problems and we all had to exit the plane. It took a little time to find us another one. The ride to Seattle was bumpy and a little scary. I was very late for my connecting flight and a little stressed out. As I was struggling with placing my carry-on in the overhead bin, someone called my name. A friend was sitting in the row behind me. The flight attendant moved me next to her. We caught up and she had brought chocolate (and bottled water, I was dying of thirst). How cool is that?

A Spiritual Conspiracy

On the surface of the Earth exactly now there is war and violence and everything looks horrible.  But, simultaneously, something quiet, calm and hidden is happening and certain people are being called by a higher light. A quiet revolution is settling from the inside out.  From bottom to top. It is a global operation. A spiritual conspiracy. There are cells from this operation in every nation on the planet.
You will not watch us on TV. Or read about us in newspapers.  Or hear our words on radios. We do not seek glory.  We do not use uniforms. We arrive in several different shapes and sizes. We have costumes and different colors. Most work anonymously.  Silently we work out of the scene. In every culture in the world. In large and small cities, in the mountains and valleys. In the farms, villages, tribes and remote islands.

We might cross paths on the streets. And not realize ... We follow in disguise. We are behind the scenes. And we do not care about who wins the gold of the result, and Yes, that the work gets performed. And once in a while we will cross paths on the streets. We exchange looks of recognition and continue following our path. During the day many are disguised in their normal jobs. But at night behind the scenes, the real work begins.

Some call us army of consciousness. Slowly we are building a new world.  With the power of our hearts and minds. We follow with joy and passion. Our orders reach us from the Central Spiritual Intelligence. We're throwing soft bombs of love without anyone noticing; poems, Hugs, songs, photos, movies, fond words, meditations and prayers, dances, social activism, websites, blogs, acts of kindness ...

We express ourselves in a unique and personal way. With our talents and gifts. Being the change we want to see in the world. This is the force that moves our hearts. We know that this is the only way to accomplish the transformation.  We know that with the silence and humbleness we have the power of all oceans together. Our work is slow and meticulous. As in the formation of mountains.

Love will be the religion of the 21 century. Without educational prerequisites. Without ordering an exceptional knowledge for your understanding. Because it is born of the intelligence of the heart. Hidden for eternity in the evolutionary pulse of every human being.

Be the change you want to see happen in the world.  Nobody else can make this work for you.

We're recruiting.  Perhaps you will join us.  Or maybe you have already joined.  All are welcome. The door is open.

Osama Bin Laden is dead

Okay. He's been irrelevant for years. But now that the excuse for slaughtering people in Afghanistan and Pakistan is gone, is this ridiculous "war on terror" over. Can the U.S. pull its troops out and bring them home?

Here we go again : (

It's not that I don't care about the Libyans. I do. I really do. I've been glued to their revolution for a month now. I just know how interventions by the U.S. turn out. It won't be pretty. UNSC vote any minute.  Deja vu, I was in D.C. with thousands of activists when the Security Council vote was cast that sealed Iraq's fate. At least I had other people to commiserate with. This time, I'm alone, watching Al-Jazeera, listening to Qaddafi's psychotic ranting.
The resolution has morphed from a "No Fly Zone" (which wouldn't have done a bit of good), to a whatever means necessary declaration. Vote is happening now. Best I can hope for at this point is that the U.S. won't play a leading role in this. Qaddafi has threatened to attack ships in the Mediterranean if he is attacked. This could be really horrible.

Meanwhile....Japan was struck with a 9.0 earthquake and followed by a tsunami 5 days ago that has left so far, over 5,000 dead, and thousands more are still missing. Several nuclear reactors there are severely damaged and leaking radiation.  Remember going to jail in my 20's for blockading a nuclear reactor in California that was built on an active earthquake fault. We lost, it sits there today. Look at Japan now. Anyone wonder why we think this is a really bad idea?
(((((Japan))))))  Hugs to you.

French Foreign Minister made impassioned speech before the Security Council. They are voting now.
10 in favor
0 against
5 abstaining. Resolution is adapted 1973-2011
Screen switches to people in Bengazi celebrating.

Maybe Obama's Government Is Less Evil Than The Last One?

After 2 days of increasingly bellicose rhetoric from Hilary Clinton and David Cameron, it would appear that someone filled them in on what the Libyans would like and maybe exactly what is involved in what they've been threatening.

Libya has been expelled from UN Human Rights Council. What were they doing there in the first place? We all kicked up quite a fuss when they were appointed. No one listened. Looking at the underground dungeons in Benghazi today on ABC it seems we were correct.

Today's Theatre of the Bizarre award goes to President Saleh of Yemen. He is alleging that the unrest in the region is being directed from a secret "Media Room" in Tel Aviv, which is run by the White House.
Oh dear. He's giving the Gaddafi family a run for their money. Perhaps he's been taking the "Hallucination Pills."

Dear U.S. Government, Please stay out of Libya

The Libyans do not want military intervention by anyone, and most certainly NOT by the U.S.
You know, the country that brought you the Abu Ghraib abuse? The military that comes to "help" and never fucking leaves? Still in Okinawa, Germany, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., etc., etc.

Libya has oil.

Oil,  massive human rights violations, and the U.S. a really, really bad combination.

Tell me, how does an anti-imperialist U.S. citizen prevent their government from invading yet another country where they are not welcome?
Someone? Anyone?
The USS Enterprise is heading toward Libya as I write. Apparently they were "hunting pirates" off the coast of Somalia, so they just happen to be in the neighborhood. Hunting pirates with an aircraft carrier?
Picture this, will you?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1361600/USS-Enterprise-way-Libya-U-S-Navy-repositions-warships-ahead-sanctions-proposed-fly-zone.html

By the way, a "No Fly Zone" IS military intervention. Libya's air defenses would have to be taken out. All of them. All over the whole country. You guys that are crying for a No Fly Zone...Do you realize that you are asking for the country to be bombed? Repeatedly.  And if memory serves me, their "smart bombs" aren't all that fucking smart. While these outsiders are enforcing this No Fly Zone,  Gaddafi will engage them (he has nothing to lose) and they will retaliate and innocent Libyans will die.
This would not be helpful.
I know it's difficult to watch. They have to do this on their own. We all must provide medical and food aid. It is the right thing to do. Assistance for refugees, our duty as fellow human beings.

Things are not going well

Gaddafi is stark, raving mad and refusing to leave. People are being slaughtered while the UN and world "leaders" condemn, deplore, and express concern.  Never mind that nearly every western country has been selling him weapons. Weapons that the Western merchants of death thought he would use for what?  Defense against an invasion by Tunisia?

Meanwhile, back at the Egyptian revolution:

As the people's demands have not been met, the revolution returned to Tahrir & the Parliament building. Below are screenshots of 2 tweets from in front of The parliament.

The army showed its true face tonight using extreme violence to disperse the two sitins and arresting many

In tahrir they used special forces soldiers wearing balaklavas and carrying assault weapons

"The People And The Army Are ONE"

I doubt it.

Needless to say, it isn't even close to being over yet. Yalla Egypt!

Sleep? We've Got A Revolution To Support! Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen & Libya.

I haven't had more than about 3 hours of sleep each night since #Jan 25.

Tunisia - You are beautiful. Mohammed Bouazizi, I hope that you can see us from where you are and know what you have set in motion. You will never be forgotten.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Bouazizi

Egypt.... I'm speechless. You are so inspiring.

Bahrain & Yemen: Don't give up!

Ah Libya..........
You will be free. This is really, really hard to watch.

One day, I was in a hotel in Damascus, in the elevator. This friendly, smiling, guy in the elevator asked me if I was French. I braced myself, (as I often do), for the consequences of my origin (damn you Bush),
and looking at the floor, said, "No, I'm American." He broke into a HUGE smile.  He said, "I am from Libya! We are friends now!"  Condi Rice had just been to visit the Colonel and declared him rehabilitated. Amazing what a lot of oil can do for your reputation.
I keep thinking about my incredibly sweet Libyan friend. Is he in Libya now? Is he alright?

I will see you all soon.
